Dadar's Ashok Vada Pav Hits TasteAtlas Top 25
Kirti College's favourite street stop goes global
Ashok Vada Pav from Dadar West, Mumbai has been ranked 25th on TasteAtlas's list of the World's Most Iconic Sandwiches, placing it among 40 sandwiches recognised worldwide.
The stall, widely called Kirti College Vada Pav for its location near Kirti College, was started by Ashok Vaidya in 1966 near Dadar railway station. Nearly six decades on, it still draws daily queues. Beyond the classic vada pav, the stall's signature Chura Pav, stuffed with crispy fried batter crumbs, has become a draw of its own.
Ekda khavach pahije. TasteAtlas placing a Rs 15-ish street snack alongside globally recognised sandwiches is a reminder that Mumbai's street food has always played in a different league.
