African Feast Lands in Kolhapur This June
Sayaji Hotel brings Swahili flavours and grilled exotica to the Deccan
Sayaji Kolhapur hosted "Hakuna Matata-The Great African Food Feast" at Barbeque Nation Kolhapur from June 12 to June 21, 2026. The 10-day festival brought African-inspired dishes including BBQ African Cinnamon Fruits, Shakalaka Veg Bullets, and Kuku Paka to a city better known for its fiery red mutton.
The dining space was transformed into a tropical jungle-inspired setting, with Executive Chef Kishan Gunjal leading the grilled creations and African-inspired menu.
Hakuna Matata, no worries. For Kolhapur's food scene, this is a deliberate push by a hotel brand to widen palates beyond the familiar Kolhapuri canon.
