A South Bombay institution since 1962 is back at Kemps Corner
Gulmurg, the veteran restaurant inside The Shalimar Hotel at Kemps Corner, reopened in July 2026 after an eighteen-month restoration.
Running since 1962 and now in its third generation under the Advani family, Gulmurg has been a quiet anchor of South Bombay dining for over six decades. The revamped menu keeps longtime favourites, chicken makhanwala and paneer makhanwala, while adding new dishes and seasonal specials.
Waapas aa gaye. After a year and a half away, the Advanis are not reinventing anything. They are simply reminding Bombay what a long-standing family restaurant feels like.
