Poppadum Opens in Kilpauk, Reimagines Indian Classics

A new restaurant called Poppadum has opened in Kilpauk, Chennai, built around a philosophy of 'Stories of Food from Around India.'

The 2,200 square feet space seats 60 guests and takes its name and inspiration from the versatility of the poppadum itself. The menu leans into familiar flavors presented in unexpected forms: Burrata Masala Papad, Khaman Chaat, Railway Beetroot Cutlet, and mains like Burrata Tikka Masala and Tawa Kheema.

Bas itna hi chahiye tha. Chennai's dining scene has been hungry for a concept that treats pan-Indian cooking as a living archive rather than a theme park. Whether Poppadum delivers on that promise is now down to the kitchen.
