Zetu opens inside 1AQ gallery with 175 seats and a banyan tree centerpiece
Zetu, a new Sri Lankan restaurant, has opened inside the 1AQ art gallery complex in Mehrauli, South Delhi, making it one of the city's most distinctive new openings of 2026.
The 175-seat space is built around an old banyan tree, with interiors drawing from architect Geoffrey Bawa's tropical modernism aesthetic. The menu leans authentically Sri Lankan - lamprais, wood-fired flatbread - developed alongside a Sri Lankan chef, team, and a well-known Colombo kitchen. Ekdum serious about the provenance.
For Delhi, which has long waited for credible Sri Lankan cooking at this scale, Zetu is a significant arrival. The 1AQ complex location adds cultural weight. This is not a standalone restaurant play. It is a full experience.
