Zylia Opens Greek-Cypriot Taverna in Covent Garden
A Michelin-pedigreed chef brings charcoal-grilled mezze to central London
Zylia, a Greek-Cypriot restaurant, opened in Covent Garden, London on June 3, 2026. Athens-born chef Nick Molyviatis, formerly of Kiln and OMA, London's only Michelin-starred Greek restaurant, co-founded the spot with Barry Karacostas.
The menu draws on both shared and distinct traditions of Greek and Cypriot cooking, with handmade pitta, hot and cold mezze, and meats and vegetables off a charcoal grill. The slow-cooked kleftiko is the dish to order.
With Molyviatis stepping away from fine-dine Greek to lead a taverna-style room, Zylia is one of the more interesting openings on London's June 2026 calendar.
