London Gets Awadhi Royalty, Greek Fire in June
Two notable openings put Covent Garden and Mayfair on the radar this month.
London's fine-dine calendar got two sharp additions in June 2026. Oudh 1722 marks the London debut of Aktar Islam, the chef behind Birmingham's two-Michelin-starred Opheem. The restaurant focuses on Awadhi cuisine, the slow-cooked, aristocratic cooking tradition of Lucknow.
On June 3, Zylia opened in Covent Garden under Athens-born chef Nick Molyviatis, previously of Kiln and OMA, currently London's only Michelin-starred Greek restaurant. Zylia's focus is classic Greek-Cypriot cooking.

Dono nahin se seats milna mushkil hoga. Both openings signal London's appetite for cuisine with serious regional identity, not just geography.
