Sayaji Kolhapur's Aakhad 5.0 Festival Is Back
Ten days of Tambda Rassa, Kala Mutton, and Kolhapuri pride at Blue Lotus
Sayaji Kolhapur is hosting the Aakhad 5.0 Food Festival at its Blue Lotus restaurant from August 3 to 12, 2026. The tenth edition of this annual festival spotlights traditional Aakhadi cuisine through a menu built around Mutton Sukka, Kala Mutton, Chicken Lonche, Mutton Lonche, and the region's signature Tambda and Pandhra Rassa.
The timing is deliberate: Aakhad sits just ahead of the Shrawan-Ganpati-Navratri run, making it a last window for meat-heavy regional cooking before the festive fasting season kicks in. The venue itself leans into Kolhapuri identity with decor referencing local monuments, traditional glass paintings, and regional artefacts.
