Via Bombay Launches Month-Long Sindhi Fest
Fort restaurant puts comfort food from the community front and centre
Via Bombay in Fort kicked off its Sindhi Fest on June 5, a month-long spread dedicated to the dishes Sindhi households have been feeding guests for generations.
The menu reads like a greatest hits of community cooking: dal pakwan leads the charge, followed by seyal pav, chola dabal, dal sandwich, bheej ji tikki, and arbi tuk. These are slow-simmered family recipes and street eats that rarely make it onto restaurant menus with this kind of focus.

Sindhi cuisine does not get nearly enough formal spotlight in Mumbai. This festival is a direct correction to that. Ek baar zaroor jaao.
