California Gets Two New Three-Star Restaurants
Michelin's 2026 California Guide makes history with a Mexican first
Michelin unveiled its 2026 California Guide on June 24, 2026, at a ceremony in downtown San Diego. Two restaurants earned the top three-star rating: Californios in San Francisco and Enclos in Sonoma.
Californios is now the first Mexican restaurant in the United States to hold three Michelin stars. Los Angeles' Kato moved up to two stars. Nine new one-star restaurants were added statewide, including Corridor 109, KOJIMA, Lielle, Miura, and Seline in Los Angeles, Lucien in La Jolla, and Naides, Wolfsbane, and Troubadour across San Francisco and Healdsburg.
The Bay Area dominated the evening's biggest moments, with both three-star promotions rooted in Northern California.
