The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration suspended licences of six Mumbai restaurants, hotels, and bakeries following surprise inspections between June 26 and 28, 2026. The raids were initiated by the Maharashtra FDA and uncovered issues including pest control lapses, expired items, kitchen standards, and product labeling, all now being addressed.

Establishments hit include Fleet and Varsha at Nariman Point, Hotel Gopalkrishna in Santacruz East, Karak Enterprises in Andheri, Madras Diaries in Bandra, M.K. Bakery in Borivali, and Hotel Shrikrishna in Bhandup. These are well-known names across the city's busiest neighbourhoods.
